Plastic recycling workshops

Plastic recycling workshops

We not only do cleanups, but we also do weekly workshops or whenever we can or are requested.

The workshops are based on the open source project from precious plastic. We collect plastic from cleanups, hairdressers, and burger bars. Students also bring in plastic from the yellow bin at home or school. We then wash and clean the plastic, shred it or cut it into small pieces, then use an injection machine and different molds to turn them into something new like the plastic carabiners pictured below which helps stimulate the discussion at home and in the school about plastic waste.

Our goal is that more people use less plastic especially after being shown the scale of the problem, that not much plastic is actually recycled, and what is recycled turns into the question – how many more things can we keep recycling plastic into?
